String added in the repository
Some metrics are more meaningful when their rate is considered (such as dropped network packages, for example). By default, the plug-in computes the rate in case the metric is a monotonic counter. This is of course just a heuristic and might not work for all metrics: The uptime, for example, would be reported as '1.0 s/s', which is not too useful. You can override the default behavior here.<br><br>Histogram and exponential histogram metrics are not affected by this setting. They always report the average of observed values within an interval: for delta temporality this is sum / count of the current reporting interval, and for cumulative temporality this is the average of new observations since the last check cycle (delta sum / delta count).

Use the <tt>podman</tt> CLI for all queries. This works out of the box without any socket configuration and is recommended when the Podman socket service is not available.

Select how the agent plug-in communicates with Podman. The <b>API</b> method connects through a Unix socket and is the default. The <b>CLI</b> method invokes the <tt>podman</tt> command directly and works without a running Podman socket service.
