Select which data the special agent fetches from the backup server. Deselect services you do not need, for example ones your monitoring account has no permission for. A selected service the account may not read is left out, and the Check_MK service shows a warning naming it, so that you can correct the selection or the permissions. Any other error while fetching makes the agent fail. Most services are created on the host this rule applies to. "Backups" and "Restore points" are instead delivered via piggyback to one host per protected machine, named after the machine in its Veeam backup chain. Create these hosts, for example with the dynamic host management, or map the names to existing hosts with the rule "Host name translation for piggybacked hosts". Without such a host, these services are not created.

Monitor a Veeam Backup & Replication server through its REST API. Nothing is installed on the backup server, so this also works for the Veeam software appliance, where the Checkmk agent cannot run. Use a dedicated account with the least privileged role that can read the services you need. Some services can only be read with an administrator account. Such an account can also delete backups and start restores, so only use one if you need these services.

Choose how Checkmk logs in to AWS.<br><b>Access key:</b> the access key ID and secret access key of an IAM user.<br><b>Default AWS credentials:</b> Checkmk stores no secret. The agent uses the default credential chain of the AWS SDK: environment variables, the files in <tt>~/.aws</tt> of the site user, and the instance profile or EKS Pod Identity when Checkmk runs on AWS. Recommended on AWS, because AWS renews the instance profile and EKS Pod Identity credentials itself.<br>To monitor through an IAM role, choose <b>Explicit list of account IDs</b> under <b>Accounts</b>, and enter the account and the name of the role. The agent then assumes the role in that account. The AWS CloudTrail log shows these calls with the session name <tt>checkmk-&lt;site&gt;</tt>.
